Arts And Crafts Day

This was Arts/Crafts day with the children I take care of. We made pies out of playdough, all kinds, blueberry, apple and even some bread and rolls etc. When we were done we pretended we had a little bakery, two of the children owned the bakery while me and the other child shopped for pies and bread. They were very cheap to buy, haha, it was a lot of fun!

Logan and I did some drawings, I of course drew my favourite, Sponge Bob. Logan drew a Mario brother on a Yoshi from a Wii game "The Mario Brothers", the Yoshi is a kind of horse. So in all we had a very productive day.

Painting By Numbers And Letters

Lots of fun memories came back to me while working on this "Paint By Numbers" project, a Christmas present from Sam. New and improved this kit uses acrylic paint (quick drying) and a far better paint brush. You not only search for little numbers to paint but letters which mean you combine colors to make a new one. I didn't want it to end but I was assured there are other holidays coming up!

Painted Pots

You don't have to be a gardener to have fun visiting your local nursery, back in the 1990's I couldn't resist their tiniest flower pots. I painted them using oil paint that came in small containers (just like the paint-by-numbers paint pots) I bought at a craft store, then sealed them with a coat of decoupage glue. I usually display them on a window sill with other decorated store bought flower pots.

Artwork By Logan Richman

These are a couple of drawings by Logan Richman, she is 9 years old soon to be 10. I take care of Logan and since she was little she has always liked to draw. When she was 5 years old we were sitting drawing and she would get upset because her drawings didn't look like mine. I would always tell her that the more she practiced the better she would get. Apart from that she was only 5 years old and by looking at these drawings, I would say she has improved a lot!
