Butterflies

Always too short a visit, the migrating Monarch butterfly spends a couple of days snacking on our Golden Rod, Montauk daisies and the bright yellow Mums before continuing on to Mexico for the winter.

Duck Pond

The duck pond in East Hampton is not only a great place to watch and feed a variety of water foul but a very pretty and peaceful place for a little stroll.  The elegant swans are always a highlight but I found the geese with their noisy sass a lot of fun and the ducks are so cute.  And then there are the busy beavers, ignoring everything but the job at hand.

Turkey Time Continued

The "Turkey Time" gazebo in summertime. It is surrounded by waist high Goldenrod that is just beginning to blossom, maybe the wild turkeys are in there somewhere.

High Winds Waves And Westies

The wind is very strong today but surprisingly not too cold. Willa for some reason became a youthful 15 year old bouncing around on the sand. It was wonderful seeing her so playful again. That's painters tape holding her coat together.

The Very Calm Before The Storm

A waveless ocean. I live close enough to the water to hear it's ever changing moods, whether a constant roar from a wild storm, earth shaking booms from a steep shore, to clean rhythmic lapping on a windless day. But rarely is it so calm there are no waves...all is quiet.

Winter Birds And Rats

The photo is a little blurry but the birds move so quickly! This was taken last year before the snow. The bird feeder is always full, kept well stocked by Sam. We all enjoy watching the beautiful birds that come to feed...even the squirrels who I find cute while certain others have been calling them "...it's really just a rat closeup!"
